Last In Line Release Two New Songs in Tribute to Jimmy Bain

January 25, 2016

Last in Line have released two songs from their upcoming debut album, Heavy Crown, as a tribute to their bassist Jimmy Bain, who died over the weekend. You can listen to “Blame it on Me” above (courtesy of Loudwire) and “Starmaker” below.

Last in Line marked the reunion of ’80s Dio veterans Bain, Vivian Campbell and Vinny Appice, alongside singer Andrew Freeman. Heavy Crown is set for release on Feb. 20. The band was aboard Def Leppard‘s Hysteria on the High Seas cruise when Bain died of unspecified causes on Saturday.

Campbell, who has been in Def Leppard since 1992, called his former bandmate “a very kind and gentle and generous soul” and credited him for his “first big break in the music industry”. Many of Bain’s peers paid their respects on social media.

Last in Line unveiled their debut single, “The Devil in Me,” back in November. There’s no word on the band’s future plans in the wake of Bain’s death.

Such good music, so much tragedy in the loss of so much talent so far this year!
