Chopped, the popular Food Network competition show, will devote their Aug. 18 episode to rock n’ roll. Lita Ford, Kelly Hansen of Foreigner, Eddie Ojeda of Twisted Sister and Dweezil Zappa will put their culinary skills to the test in the hopes of raising $10,000 for their favorite cause.
Hosted by Ted Allen, formerly of the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy gang, Chopped features four chefs having to use the same ingredients to make an appetizer, an entree and a dessert in a pre-set length of time. The results are judged by a panel of experts on the basis of taste, creativity and presentation, with one chef eliminated after each round. The last one standing is declared the winner.
The Chopped show site states, “In the first round the cooks attempt to make harmonious appetizers with a bubbly drink and a “punny” protein. In the entree round, lamb is the jam. The final rock ‘n’ roll-themed round has the competitors cooking with rock candy and lemon rolls.”
