February 12, 1997 – David Bowie receives a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His star is located outside of the Hollywood Galaxy Theater.

February 12, 1981 – Rush release their 8th studio album, Moving Pictures, featuring “Tom Sawyer,” “Limelight” and “YYZ.” It becomes their best-selling album, with 4 million copies sold.

February 12, 2017 – Al Jarreau, 7-time Grammy winner, dies of respiratory failure, two days after announcing his retirement.  He was 76.  Jarreau was known as the “Acrobat of Scat,” and is best known for his biggest album Breakin’ Away (1981), the theme song of the Bruce Willis/Cybill Shepherd television series Moonlighting, and his feature in the second verse of the 1985 charity song “We Are the World.”
