March 7, 1975 – David Bowie releases his ninth studio album, Young Americans.  The album is certified Gold in the U.S.

March 7, 1945 – Arthur Lee (born Arthur Taylor) vocals, guitar (Love) (d. 2006)

March 7, 1943 – Chris White, vocals, bass (The Zombies, Argent)

March 7, 1946 – Matthew Fisher, keyboards, vocals (Procol Harum)

March 7, 1952 – Jules Shear, vocals, guitar, songwriter (Jules and the Polar Bears)

March 7, 1954 – Matt Frenette, drums (Loverboy)

 

HEADBANGERS HEAVEN:

March 7, 2013 – Peter Banks (born Peter William Brockbanks) dies of heart failure in London. He was 65. Banks was the co-founder and original guitarist of Yes. He left the band in 1970 when orchestral arrangements proposed by singer Jon Anderson and bassist Chris Squire replaced almost all of his parts.

March 7, 2018 – Gary Burden, album cover art designer, dies in Los Angeles of undisclosed causes.  He was 84. Burden designed the first Crosby, Stills & Nash album in 1969, and then continued to work with many others, including Joni Mitchell, the Doors, the Eagles, The Mamas & The Papas and most importantly, Neil Young. Burden designed more than 40 albums for Young and won a Grammy for the Neil Young release The Archives Vol. 1 1963–1972 for Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Packaging in 2010.
