November 27, 1991 – Freddie Mercury‘s funeral is held in London with 35 close friends and family including Elton John and Mercury’s Queen bandmates. At the singer’s request, his longtime companion Mary Austin took his cremated ashes and buried them in an undisclosed location.
November 27, 1970 – George Harrison releases the triple album All Things Must Pass, which includes the hit singles “My Sweet Lord” and “What Is Life.” The release, co-produced by studio legend Phil Spector, would go on to be certified 6x platinum and become the best selling album by a solo Beatle.
November 27, 1970 – Black Sabbath headline a triple bill at The Sunshine Inn in Asbury Park, N.J. Opening for Black Sabbath are Cactus and Steel Mill, featuring Bruce Springsteen. The members of Black Sabbath and Cactus have a fistfight over who should close the show. Admission was $5.00.
